Hoopes Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

On the nose it presents with sweet and floral elements. It reminds me of raspberry violet candies, sweet cherries, and delicate rosewater. On the mouthfeel, the wine is lush and generous, with a hint of sweetness and a full, but supple, texture. Its finish is focused and lengthy with an acidity that creates an integrated finish.

Wine EnthusiastThis cellar-worthy treasure has attention-grabbing spice, leather and smoky oak aromas. Ripe fruit flavors are heavily shaded with undeniably delicious accents of cedar and chocolate. It is bold in flavor, full in body and quite tannic in texture. Hold until at least 2018; the wine should improve even more after that.

Wine AdvocateThe 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep ruby/purple with sweet blackcurrant fruit, licorice and a straightforward, but tasty, savory and concentrated style. A little more complexity would elevate the score, but this is a well-made and well above-average wine. Drink it over the next decade.
