Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
|Region||California, Napa Valley, Oakville|
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville offers more blackcurrants and cassis fruit as well as a touch of chocolate and espresso, medium to full body, some earth and tobacco notes, ripe yet present tannins, and outstanding length. Based on 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Petit Verdot, 8% Cabernet Franc, and 2% each of Malbec and Merlot, it's well worth drinking any time over the coming decade or more.
The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Oakville), all from To Kalon, is a pretty, mid-weight wine laced with cedar, tobacco, dried flowers, mint and sweet pipe tobacco. Medium in body and nuanced, the 2017 offers a good bit of immediacy in the somewhat lithe, compact style of the year. This is the least expressive and most compact wine in the range today - let's see what time in bottle brings.
