Polished and saturated with black cherry, plum, leather, tobacco, incense and iron aromas and flavors, this red is both complex and harmonious. Beautifully balanced, with enough tannins to age another decade or longer. The aftertaste reveals fruit, savory and mineral elements. Sangiovese and Canaiolo. Drink now through 2033. 12,500 cases made, 6,500 cases imported.

The 2018 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva is dark and broody, showing wild herbs and earth tones before giving way to red plum nuances. This flows across the palate with a pleasant inner sweetness yet takes on a bit of a rustic flair as dank mineral tones mix with over-ripe cherr-berry fruits. The 2018 finishes lightly structured, leaving clove and balsamic spice dashes to taper off slowly.
