This widely available wine is compelling on many fronts. Strong aromas of Key lime pie, Anjou pear, grapefruit pith, chalk and buttercream lead into a generous palate of white peach and smoked nectarine. It's rich but balanced.

Brought up mostly in barrel (10% was in tank), the 2018 Chardonnay Monterey offers lots of honeyed melon and tropical notes as well as a medium-bodied, juicy, nicely balanced style on the palate. It's another good value from this estate.

Dried fig and ripe apple flavors blend easily in this spicy version, with buttery accents on the finish. Drink now.
