Chateau Monbousquet Angelique de Monbousquet 2016
|Region||France, Bordeaux, St. Emilion|
90-92. Barrel Sample. The second wine of this Château is made by the same team as Château Pavie. It is concentrated while keeping a fine sense of crisp fruit, with gently structured tannins to lend support.
From the stellar team at Château Pavie, the 2016 Angélique de Monbousquet is a sexy, medium to full-bodied, incredibly delicious Saint-Emilion that boasts a huge nose of blackcurrants, chocolate, tobacco leaf, and graphite. It has outstanding purity, ripe tannins, and is one seriously good mouthful of wine. Drink it over the coming decade.
A fleshy and dark style, with warmed fig and steeped black currant notes forming the core, backed by light bramble, tobacco and singed bay leaf accents. Woodsy and charcoal hints add a rustic echo. Drink now through 2028.
The 2016 Angélique de Monbousquet is an attractive second wine from Monbousquet. Black cherry, chocolate, cloves, new leather and licorice give the 2016 its dark personality and dense, rich feel. The Angélique is made for near- and medium-term drinking.
