Masi Campofiorin 2017
|Region||Italy, Veneto, Veronese|
Intense ruby red in appearance. Aromas of ripe cherries and sweet spices. Rich, intense cherries and berry fruit; good length and soft tannins. Full bodied, smooth and velvety, but approachable and versatile in its food pairings. Combines simplicity with style, strength and majesty. Exceptionally versatile. Good with pasta dishes dressed with rich sauces (meat or mushrooms); full-blooded grilled or roast red meat, and game. Ideal with well-aged cheese.
The 2017 Campofiorin is spicy and intense, benefitting from the warmth of the vintage with a display of rich red/black fruits complemented by notes of dark chocolate and flowery undergrowth. Hints of mint leaf develop over time, adding a cooling wave of freshness. It's silky in feel, with ripe wild berry fruits and minerals motivated by brisk acids and hints of spice. Purple florals resonate, as this finishes on a savory note.
