A creamy and round blanc de blancs with cooked apples and lemons, as well as some bread dough. It’s full and layered with a lovely texture. It’s all about the velvety, integrated mouthfeel. 36 months on the less. Disgorged December 2023. 4.7g/L dosage. Drink now.

The NV Brut Grand Reserve (2015 base), a new wine in the range oriented towards the French domestic and select European markets, is a blend of 2015 L'Esprit with 20-25% 2014 Reserve Oubliee as the reserve wine portion, a combination that works beautifully. Citrus peel, white flowers and chalk give the Grand Reserve striking nuance, tension and energy. Interestingly, the Grand Reserve does not show the green notes that are found in the Cuvee de Reserve based on 2015. Sadly, production is limited to 4,000 bottles. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: November, 2018.

Tasted from magnum, the NV Champagne Grand Cru Blanc De Blancs Cuvee De Reserve Brut is based on the 2020 vintage and boasts a fresh and fruity nose, with pure, bright aromas of green apples, white flowers, candied lime, and saline. The palate is a touch fruitier as well compared to the 2019 base, though it remains medium-bodied, with a transparent and crystalline characteristic feel. It’s delightful out of the gate and will be best enjoyed over the coming 8-10 years.

This is a beautifully balanced selection that's crisp and laced with taut apple and citrus flavors. It has a rich texture, intense fruit and a tight minerality, which gives it structure and the potential for bottle aging.
